Nixie tube clocks

Model 2D3 clock Enquiry form Prices

Welcome to my site! It is my intention to offer here for sale a number of hand built digital clocks based on the obsolete but attractive Nixie tube. I use a combination of the old Nixie tube and modern microprocessor electronics to give a stylish retro look. I also have kits of parts to enable you to make your own clock, and schematics you can use if you would like to build from scratch. If you don't know what Nixie tubes are, just look at the pictures here. Nixies were the predecessor to LED displays and have a lot in common with Neon signs and plasma TVs and are based on valve (vacuum tube) technology.

I have only one off the shelf model for sale at the moment: the model 2D3.

I also have a couple of unique one off special versions of the 2D3, click on the pictures below for more info. Depending on how well these sell I may produce other models or you might like to consider commissioning something more bespoke. Please ask

As far as I know, Nixie tubes are not manufactured anywhere in the world anymore with the last being made in the Soviet Union. In my opinion the more modern types of digital display are much less aesthetically pleasing than the old nixie with its warm orange glow. Have a look on the web for more Nixie clocks... I am certainly not the only enthusiast, try the links below.

Wikipedia Nixie Tube page

Mike's Electric Stuff Probably the most popular Nixie clock design out there. Also lots of serious high voltage stuff, big lasers curious glassware and other scary electrical devices.

Dieter's Nixie World Superb clocks for sale. Also a great place to find tube data.

Tasm from Squak Valley software and Programmers File Editor (PFE) are some of the tools I used to create the firmware. I have used this combination to develop 8051 assembly language programs for years and haven't found anything to better it.
